Jo Hanson, CEO, The Works Bnb introduces herself in this blog.
From a young age Jo loved property and interior design. From designing her first bedroom makeover at age 15, to today where she owns a property investment business, and short term rental property management business.
It wasn’t an easy road to where she is today, from cash-strapped grad renovating her first live in flip on a shoe-string budget. This budget conscious approach to renovating is at her core, and something that has been useful throughout the years when renovating rental properties with a return on investment in mind.

After 18 years working in a corporate job in Marketing, doing live in flips on the side, and later short term rental properties. She always had the itch to start her own business.
In 2020 she opened Britflipper Properties LLC with her husband Harvey, to invest in their own short term rental properties. And in 2022, she opened The Works Bnb to expand on what she learned over the past couple of years. Today she is a full time real estate investor and short term property manager.
“Short term rentals are where my heart lies. It combines everything I love: business, marketing, interior design, real estate, hospitality, and helping others.” Jo said. “Our own brand of short term rentals – The Hygge Suite – is all about helping families and friends getaway from life’s hectic pace to spend quality time in nature. The best part of the business for me is seeing how we helped make someone’s vacation memorable and relaxing.”

Her mission for The Hygge Suite brand carries over into her new business The Works Bnb. She wanted to share her knowledge, and the mistakes she made along the way, with other investors, so that they can either 3x their long term rental incomes, or have a family vacation home that more than pays for itself.
